Media Freedom Index

Der Media Freedom Index ist eine Bewertung der Pressefreiheit in verschiedenen Staaten.

Der Index wird von der Organisation Reporter ohne Grenzen auf der Grundlage von Fragebögen erstellt, die mit etwa 50 Fragen in mehr als 160 Ländern an ihre 14 Partnerorganisationen (Organisationen, die sich weltweit für Pressefreiheit einsetzen) und ihr Korrespondenten-Netzwerk, an Journalisten, Rechercheure, Juristen und Menschenrechtler verteilt werden.

5. Rangliste 2006

Reporter ohne Grenzen hat am 23. Oktober 2006 zum fünften Mal eine Rangliste zur weltweiten Situation der Pressefreiheit veröffentlicht.[3]

Dafür hat ROG die Situation in 166 Ländern zwischen September 2005 und August 2006 ausgewertet (die USA und Israel wurden zweimal gelistet: für das Land selber und das Vorgehen im Irak bzw. in den Palästinensischen Gebieten). Berücksichtigt wurde der Zeitraum von September 2005 bis Ende August 2006.
