NBC Universal ist ein 2004 gegründetes US-amerikanisches Medienunternehmen mit Firmensitz in New York City, New York.

Es entstand aus dem Zusammenschluss der National Broadcasting Company und der Unterhaltungsbranche von Vivendi. NBC Universal ist noch vor der Walt Disney Company das drittgrößte Medienunternehmen der Welt, nach Time Warner und Viacom. Im Jahr 2004 kaufte General Electric 80 Prozent von Vivendis Unterhaltungsbranche auf, bezahlte an Vivendi 3,4 Milliarden Dollar und tilgte den Schuldenberg um 1,7 Milliarden Dollar. Das neugegründete Unternehmen hat jährliche Einnahmen von 13 Milliarden US-Dollar. Kopf des Unternehmens ist Jeffrey Zucker. NBC Universal hat im Jahre 2004 einen Umsatz von 12,866 Milliarden US-Dollar und einen Gewinn von 2,558 Milliarden US-Dollar erwirtschaftet und über 16.000 Beschäftigte. [1]
