At-Tayyiba

Taybeh (arabisch ‏الطيبه‎ aṭ-Ṭayyiba) ist eine Ortschaft in den Palästinensischen Autonomiegebieten, hat ungefähr 2100 Einwohner und liegt ca. 10km östlich von Ramallah. Das Dorf, das als das biblische Ephraim gilt, ist heute der einzige fast komplette christliche Ort im Heiligen Land.[1]

Wirtschaft

Bekannt ist Taybeh vor allem wegen seiner 1995 von dem christlichen Palästinenser Nadim Khouri gegründeten Brauerei, die als einzige im Nahen Osten nach dem bayerischen Reinheitsgebot braut. Gezielte Fördermaßnahmen der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung und Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung (z.B. beim Ausrichten des ersten Oktoberfestes in Palästina) brachten wertvolle Impulse für die Entwicklung des Unternehmens, das eines der wenigen Hoffnungsschimmer in der seit Beginn der 2. Intifada darniederliegenden palästinensischen Wirtschaft ist. Wie beim Münchner Vorbild findet das Taybeher Oktoberfest im September statt, allerdings aus Rücksicht auf Ramadan und Jom Kippur. Die Brauerei produziert insbesondere für den arabisch-moslemischen Markt auch alkoholfreies Bier.[2]

Ausschreitungen 2005

Am 4. September 2005 wurde die Ortschaft Opfer einer Vergeltungsaktion, da angeblich ein Christ aus Taybeh eine verheiratete Muslima aus dem Nachbarort geschwängert hatte. Die moslemischen Nachbarn verübten an der Schwangeren einen Ehrenmord und brannten zur Wiederherstellung der Dorfehre in Taybeh vierzehn Häuser nieder, wobei siebzig Menschen obdachlos wurden. Auch die einzige Brauerei im Palästinensergebiet wäre bei dem Vorfall beinahe niedergebrannt worden. [3].
