Fatmir Limaj

Fatmir Limaj (* 4. Februar 1971 in Banjë bei Malisheva, Kosovo) ist ein kosovarischer Politiker und derzeit Abgeordneter im kosovarischen Parlament. In der Regierung "Hashim Thaqi-1" war er Transport- und Posttelekommunikationsminster der Republik Kosovo. Fatmir Limaj studierte bis 1994 Rechtswissenschaften.

Limaj ist Vizepräsident für politische Angelegenheiten bei der Partia Demokratike e Kosovës (PDK). Nebst seinem Amt als Minister ist Fatmir Limaj auch Abgeordneter im Parlament der Republik Kosovo.

Wegen Verdacht auf Kriegsverbrechen im Dorf Klecka im Kosovokrieg in den Jahren 1998/99 steht Limaj unter Hausarrest. 2007 wurde er vom UN-Tribunal in Den Haag freigesprochen, da sich keine Zeugen gefunden haben die bereit waren gegen ihn auszusagen.[1]

Am 11. November 2011 begann in Pristina der Prozess gegen Limaj und neun Mitangeklagte. Schon am 8. November wurde auf Antrag der Verteidigung Regierungschef Hashim Thaci, dessen engen Mitarbeiter Limaj war, von Beamten der Rechtsstaatlichkeitsmission der Europäischen Union im Kosovo] (EULEX) einvernommen.[2]
