Le Mayet-de-Montagne ist eine französische Gemeinde mit 1537 Einwohnern (Stand 1. Januar 2008) in der Region Auvergne im Département Allier im Arrondissement Vichy und im Kanton Le Mayet-de-Montagne. Bürgermeister (Maire) ist seit 2001, wiedergewählt 2008 Jean-Claude Mercier. Le Mayet-de-Montagne ist Mitglied der Communauté de communes de la Montagne bourbonnaise. Die Einwohner nennen sich Mayetois.

Geografie

Le Mayet-de-Montagne liegt 25 Kilometer ostsüdöstlich von Vichy, am Rand des Zentralmassives. Der Ort liegt auf einer Höhe von etwa 550 Meter. Im Ort treffen sich die Départementsstraßen D7, D62 und D49.

Städtepartnerschaft

Seit 1992 besteht eine Partnerschaft zwischen Le Mayet-de-Montagne und der Gemeinde Vogt im Landkreis Ravensburg, Baden-Württemberg, Deutschland.
