Kharagpur (Bengalisch: খড়্গপুর, Khaṛagpur) ist mit rund 207.000 Einwohnern (Volkszählung 2011) die größte Stadt im westbengalischen Distrikt Pashchim Medinipur in Indien. Sie liegt auf einer Höhe von durchschnittlich 28 m.

Die Elite-Universität IIT Kharagpur ist das älteste Indian Institute of Technology.

Kharagpur gehörte zum einstmaligen Königreich Hijli. Seit Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts ist der Ort an das Netz der Indian Railways angeschlossen. Es besteht eine Direktverbindung nach Haora. Mit 1072,50 Metern Länge gehört der Bahnsteig von Kharagpur zu den längsten der Welt[3].
