Die National Wildlife Federation ist die größte US-amerikanische Umweltschutzorganisation. Die Organisation hat über fünf Millionen Mitglieder und ein jährliches Budget von mehr als 125 Millionen USD (2006).
National Wildlife Federation wurde 1936 gegründet, nachdem US.Präsident Franklin Delano Roosevelt die erste Konferenz über die nordamerikanische Tier- und Pflanzenwelt einberief. Bis in die 1960er Jahre war die National Wildlife Federation eine weitgehend unpolitische Organisation, die sich überwiegend in der Pflege und im Schutz von Naturschutzreservaten engagierte. Nach der breiten öffentlichen Debatte, die die Publikation von Rachel Carsons Buch Der stumme Frühling politisierte sich die Organisation deutlich und nimmt heute stärker als zuvor an der politischen Debatte teil.
Die Nationel Wildlife Federation ist unter anderem Herausgeber eine umfangreichen Reihe von Publikationen.
