Claus Oefner (* 1938) ist ein deutscher Musikwissenschaftler.

Werdegang

Claus Oefner studierte an der Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar Musikpädagogik und später Musikwissenschaft an der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg. 1975 promovierte er zum Dr. phil.. Von 1960 bis 1988 arbeitete Oefner als Lehrer in Eisenach. Ab 1988 war er zwei Jahre am Landestheater Eisenach beschäftigt. Hiernach war er bis 2002 Direktor des Bachhauses in Eisenach.

Claus Oefner veröffentlichte verschiedene Publikationen über die Bachfamilie, Georg Philipp Telemann sowie zur Musikgeschichte Thüringens. Claus Oefner ist Begründer der Eisenacher Telemann-Tage, war Vorsitzender der Gesellschaft Thüringer Bach-Wochen und Gründungspräsident- und Mitglied der Ständigen Konferenz Mitteldeutsche Barockmusik in Sachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt und Thüringen. Außerdem ist er Vizepräsident des Landesmusikrates Thüringen.
