Opposition (v. spätlat.: oppositio „das Entgegengesetzte“) bezeichnet

  • Opposition (Politik), eine Partei oder Gruppe, die der herrschenden Politik Widerstand und Ablehnung entgegenbringt
  • Opposition (Astronomie), eine Konstellation, bei der sich zwei Himmelskörper am Himmel im Winkelabstand von 180 Grad befinden
  • Opposition (Linguistik), der Gegensatz zwischen in gleicher Weise verwendeten sprachlichen Einheiten
  • Oppositio, die rhetorische Figur der Entgegensetzung
  • Opposition (Anatomie), die Gegenstellung des Daumens zu den anderen Fingern bzw. der ersten Zehe zu den anderen Zehen
  • Opposition (Schach), eine Position, in der sich beide Könige in einem bestimmten Abstand gegenüberstehen
