Attaché (zu frz. attacher, befestigen) oder Attachée (weibliche Form) ist in der Diplomatie eine Bezeichnung für Begleiter eines Gesandten.

Allgemein ist es die „Rangbezeichnung für die Eingangsstufe im diplomatischen Dienst“[1]. Attachés sind Angehörige von Botschaften mit besonderen Fachaufgaben, wie z. B. Militärattachés oder Kulturattachés. Hier bezeichnet der Titel eine Funktion; es ist keine Amtsbezeichnung.
