Polyarthritis

Polyarthritis bezeichnet eine Entzündung von fünf oder mehr Gelenken.

Ursachen

Häufigste Auslöser einer entzündliche Erkrankung der Gelenke ist eine Autoimmunerkrankung, die als Rheumatoide Arthritis bezeichnet wird.

Einige Infektionskrankheiten, beispielsweise das Ross-River-Fieber, gehen ebenfalls mit einer Polyarthritis einher.

Die Multizentrische Retikulohistiozytose geht, neben Knotenbildungen in der Haut und den Schleimhäuten, mit einer destruktiv-mutilierende Polyarthritis einher.

Patienten mit einem Antikörpermangelsyndrom können eine nicht-erosive Poly- oder Oligoarthritis entwickeln.
