Prop gun

Eine Prop gun ist eine Waffe, die als Requisite in einem Film verwendet wird.

Diese Waffen sind nicht mehr in der Lage echte Munition zu verschießen. Sie können nur noch Platzpatronen verschießen, was aber einen entsprechenden Umbau durch einen Büchsenmacher notwendig macht, da äußerlich keine Änderungen zu sehen sein dürfen.

In der Regel sind bei vollautomatischen Prop guns im vorderen Bereich des Laufes spezielle Laufventile eingebaut, damit der notwendige Gasdruck zum Repetieren des Verschlusses entstehen kann.

Der Einsatz von Prop guns beim Film macht es notwendig, dass in Deutschland immer eine gesetzlich berechtigte Person am Drehort (Set) anwesend sein muss, die die Verwendung und den Umgang mit den Waffen überwacht.
