Rhythmic Noise

Rhythm ’n’ Noise, auch Harsh oder Power Noise (benannt nach dem Titel „United – Power Noise Movement“ des Projekts Noisex[1]), ist ein Musikgenre, das Elemente aus Techno, Elektro, Noise, Drum ’n’ Bass und Post-Industrial miteinander vermengt. Parallelen bestehen dadurch insbesondere zu Breakcore und Industrial Hardcore. Kennzeichnend für den Stil sind eingängige, tanzbare Track-Strukturen unter Verwendung von Effekten wie Distortion und Delay, sowie Sprachsamples aus Filmen, Radio- und Fernsehnachrichten. Eine gewisse Vorreiterrolle spielten in den 1980ern Projekte wie Esplendor Geométrico.
