Ritz-Carlton Vancouver

Das Ritz-Carlton Vancouver (in der Planungsphase als Palm Court bezeichnet) ist ein Wolkenkratzer in der kanadischen Stadt Vancouver, der sich zurzeit im Bau befindet. Das Gebäude an der 1133 West Georgia Street soll 2011 eröffnet werden. Mit 183 Metern und 58 Stockwerken wird es nach dem Living Shangri-La das höchste Gebäude der Stadt sein.

Das Gebäude wurde von Arthur Erickson entworfen. Ihm zufolge wird es die Form eines hyperbolischen Paraboloids aufweisen. Die Stockwerke sind zum jeweils darunter liegenden Geschoss verdreht. Auf die ganze Höhe verdreht sich das Gebäude um 45°, womit es dem Turning Torso in Malmö gleichen wird.

Ein Hotel der Ritz-Carlton-Gruppe mit 180 Zimmern wird die unteren 26 Stockwerke einnehmen. In den Stockwerken 27 bis 56 werden sich insgesamt 123 Wohnungen befinden. Vorgesehen ist auch ein Palmengarten unter einem Glasdach.
