Shred-it ist ein Unternehmen,das die Vernichtung von Dokumenten vor Ort durchführt. Nach eigenen Angaben werden ca. 150.000 Kunden bedient. Das Unternehmen, mit Hauptsitz in Kanada, ist mit Niederlassungen auf fünf Kontinenten vertreten. Neben dem Hauptgeschäft, der Vernichtung von Dokumenten, sind weitere verbundene Unternehmen mit Dokumentendienstleistungen befasst.

Geschichte

Greg Brophy gründete im Jahr 1988 den Betrieb in Toronto, Kanada, und baute es im Laufe bis 2008 zu einem weltweit tätigen Betrieb aus. Zunächst gelang 1995 der Schritt nach Großbritannien, gefolgt von der Expansion nach Afrika, Südamerika und Asien 1998. Seit 2000 sind Unternehmenseinheiten in Benelux tätig, seit 2003 in Frankreich und Deutschland. 2009 erfolgte eine Kapitalerhöhung durch die Firma Birch Hill mit Sitz in Toronto, Kanada.
