Die Storage Networking Industry Association (gegründet 1997) ist eine Non-Profit-Handelsvereinigung. Ihr Ziel ist es, Speicher-Netzwerke zu kompletten und vertrauenswürdigen Lösungen im IT-Bereich werden zu lassen. Dazu unterstützen und formen sie technische Arbeitsgruppen, veranstalten die Storage Networking World Conference und unterhalten ein unabhängiges Technologiezentrum in Colorado Springs, CO. Folgende Punkte stehen bei der SNIA im Vordergrund:

SNIA Standards:

  • SMI-S, ein herstellerübergreifender Standard zur Verwaltung von Geräten in Storage Area Networks.
  • DDF, ein herstellerunabhängiges Datenformat für RAID-Systeme.
