TCDB

Die Transporter Classification Database (TCDB) ist eine frei zugängliche Datenbank, die Informationen über alle bekannten Membrantransport-Proteine enthält. Insbesondere ist sie die Quelle für die TCDB-Klassifikation dieser Biomoleküle.

Die TCDB wird von der Bioinformatics Group der Saier Labs in San Diego, USA gewartet.

Die TCDB-Klassifikation ist von der International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology anerkannt.

Die Kurzform der Einordnung hat die Form a.B.c.d.e, wobei Kleinbuchstaben Zahlen darstellen. Von links nach rechts handelt es sich um Transporter-Klasse, -Subklasse und -Familie, sowie -Subfamilie und -Substrat(bereich). Die Einordnung von Orthologen und Paralogen erfolgt also unter dieselbe Nummer.
