Tina Weymouth mit Tom Tom Club (1986)

Tom Tom Club ist eine Funk-Band, ein Nebenprojekt von Tina Weymouth, Bass & Gesang, und Chris Frantz, Schlagzeug, die gleichzeitig Mitglieder der Talking Heads waren.

Ihr erstes Album wurde 1981 auf den Bahamas aufgenommen und brachte einigen Erfolg mit Hits wie Genius of Love und Wordy Rappinghood.

Genius of Love wurde u.a. als Sample von Mariah Carey für ihren Hit Fantasy benutzt. 1982 sampelte Grandmaster Flash den Song für Ihr 'It's Nasty'

Tom Tom Club traten in dem Talking Heads-Konzertfilm Stop Making Sense auf.

Der Titel Time To Bounce vom Album The Good The Bad And The Funky diente als Titellied der Fernsehserie Bronski und Bernstein.

Frantz and Weymouth arbeiteten 2001 und 2002 auch mit den Gorillaz.
