Baron Dowding, of Bentley Priory in der Grafschaft Middlesex, ist ein erblicher britischer Adelstitel in der Peerage of the United Kingdom, benannt nach der Familie Dowding.

Verleihung

Der Titel wurde im Jahre 1943 an Hugh Dowding verliehen. Dieser war Kommandeur des RAF Fighter Command während der Battle of Britain im Jahre 1940 gewesen. Dafür hatte er ein besonderes System der Luftverteidigung entwickelt, das seinen Namen trug. Er stieg bis zum Range eines Air Chief Marshals auf.
