Tumbalá

Tumbalá ist ein Ort und ein Gemeindebezirk (Municipio) im mexikanischen Bundesstaat Chiapas und befindet sich in zentraler Lage des Staates. Das Municipio liegt in der Sierra Madre de Chiapas. Der Name kommt aus dem Nahuatl und bedeutet „gedrechselter Stock“ oder „das Haus der neun Wörter“.

Dieses Municipio hat 26.900 Einwohner, ist 109,3 km² groß und liegt 1500 m ü. NN. Tumbalá grenzt an die Gemeinden Salto de Agua, Chilón, Yajalón und Tila.[1]
