Willow Garage ist ein US-amerikanisches Unternehmen für Robotertechnologie aus Menlo Park im Silicon Valley. Das Unternehmen entwickelt sowohl die Hardware[1] als auch die Software[2] für eine Personal-Robot-Plattform. Die Software ist frei verfügbar unter der BSD-Lizenz und steht auf sourceforge.net zur Verfügung.

Willow Garage wurde 2006 von Scott Hassan zur Entwicklung nicht-militärischer, mobiler Roboter gegründet.[3] Präsident und CEO von Willow Garage ist Steve Cousins.[4]

Die Hardware-Plattform, an der Willow Garage entwickelt ist der Personal Robot PR2, Nachfolger des an der Stanford University entwickelten PR1.[5] Die Plattform besteht aus dem Torso, einem Kopf mit Laserscanner und Stereokameras, sowie zwei Armen zur Interaktion.

Willow Garage entwickelt zudem unter dem Namen Robot Operating System ein Open-Source-Betriebssystem für Roboter.[2] Darüber hinaus beteiligt sich Willow Garage an der Entwicklung von OpenCV.[6]
