Zaqqum

Der Zaqqum-Baum (arabisch ‏زقوم‎, DMG Zaqqūm) oder auch Saqqum-Baum Nerium oleander zu deutsch Orleander, genannt auch Rosenlorbeer, entstammt dem Koran, Sure 44 Verse 43-46.

Er wird zuweilen auch als der „verfluchte Baum“ bezeichnet und soll direkt dem Höllenfeuer entwachsen. Seine Fruchtscheide soll aussehen wie die Köpfe von Satanen (Dämonen). Die Verdammten in der Hölle sollen ewig die Früchte dieses Baumes essen müssen, die wie flüssiges Metall sind und wie kochendes Wasser in den Bäuchen der Sünder brennen sollen.
