Die Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) ist eine konservative Partei in Botsuana.
Sie wurde 1962 von Seretse Khama gegründet und hieß vor der Unabhängigkeit des Landes Bechuanaland People's Party (BPP). Bei den ersten allgemeinen Wahlen 1965 gewann sie 28 der 31 Sitze. Seit der Unabhängigkeit 1966 stellt sie ununterbrochen die Regierung. Bei den Wahlen 2004 gewann die BDP 44 von 57 Sitzen in der Nationalversammlung. Fünf Jahre später erreichte die Partei ebenso eine überragende Mehrheit.[1]
