Brillenpinguine am Boulder’s Beach

Boulder’s Beach ist ein Strandabschnitt, der etwa 20 Autominuten von Kapstadt (Südafrika) entfernt in Simon’s Town auf der Kap-Halbinsel liegt. Hier ist eine Brillenpinguin-Kolonie beheimatet.

Am Boulder’s Beach befindet sich ein Besucherzentrum, über das man in den Table-Mountain-Nationalpark gelangt, der Strandabschnitt ist Teil dieses Nationalparks. Zwei Stege, die die dortige Brillenpinguinkolonie vor den Besuchern schützen, führen zum Strand von Foxy Beach. Dort leben ca. 3000 Brillenpinguine.

Der eigentliche Strand von Boulder’s Beach kann auch von Besuchern zum Schwimmen genutzt werden. Dort sind ebenfalls Brillenpinguine beheimatet, jedoch nicht so zahlreich wie in Foxy Beach.
