CD8-Rezeptor

Der CD8-Rezeptor oder einfach nur CD8 ist ein Erkennungsmolekül, das eine wesentliche Rolle im Immunsystem eines höheren Organismus spielt. Es handelt sich dabei um ein Protein, welches in die Zellmembran von cytotoxischen T-Killerzellen eingebaut ist. CD steht für Cluster of differentiation.

Dabei erkennt der T-Zellen Rezeptor mit Hilfe des CD8 den MHC-I Komplex auf körpereigenen Zellen. Alle kernhaltigen Zellen des Körpers (somit ausgenommen zum Beispiel Erythrozyten etcetera) produzieren diesen MHC-I Komplex (Major Histocompatibility Complex) und zeigen damit/darauf welche Proteine in einer Zelle produziert werden. Cytotoxische T-Zellen mit CD8 erkennen nun ob es sich um körpereigene Peptide handelt oder ob es sich um virale Peptide oder Peptide mutierter (und somit oft mit Krebs verbundener) Proteine handelt. Erkennen sie fremde Peptide wird die Zielzelle zerstört.
