James Abdnor

James Abdnor (* 13. Februar 1923 in Kennebec, Lyman County, South Dakota) ist ein US-amerikanischer Politiker und Mitglied der Republikanischen Partei.

Von 1942 bis 1943 diente Abdnor in der United States Army. Danach studierte er an der University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Nachdem er von 1956 bis 1968 Mitglied des Senats von South Dakota war, wurde er 1969 bis 1970 Vizegouverneur des Bundesstaats.

Ab 1970 wurde Abdnor für die Republikaner in den 93. und die drei folgenden Kongresse gewählt. Er war somit vom 3. Januar 1971 bis zum 3. Januar 1981 Mitglied des US-Repräsentantenhaus. 1980 kandidierte er nicht für eine Wiederwahl, sondern für eine Wahl in den US-Senat, dem er vom 3. Januar 1981 bis zum 3. Januar 1987 angehörte.

Abdnor lebt heute in seiner Heimatstadt Kennebec.
