Der Awanui River ist ein Fluss in der Region Northland auf der Nordinsel Neuseelands. Er befindet sich an der Basis der Aupouri Peninsula und fließt über insgesamt etwa 30 km erst in westlicher, dann nördlicher Richtung. Er mündet östlich der Ortschaft Unahi in den Rangaunu Harbour. Die Stadt Kaitaia liegt an seinem Ufer.
