Der Sportverein Brake ist ein Sportverein mit mehreren Sparten in Brake (Unterweser), der Kreisstadt Wesermarsch (Niedersachsen).

Die erste Fußball-Herrenmannschaft spielt in der Saison 2009/2010 in der Fußballbezirksoberliga Niedersachsen (Staffel Weser-Ems), der sechsthöchsten Spielklasse in Deutschland.

Geschichte

Der SV Brake wurde 1908 als FC Brake gegründet. 1922 wurde der Verein durch eine Fusionierung zum Braker SV. Ab 1943 spielte der Braker SV in der Gauliga Oldenburg-Friesland und belegte in der ersten Saison den 4. Platz in der neun Mannschaften umfassenden Staffel. Die folgende Saison wurde nach wenigen Spieltagen kriegsbedingt eingestellt. 1946, nach dem Krieg, wurde der Verein als VfL Brake neugegründet (Verein für Leibesübungen Brake). Unter diesem Namen spielte man bis 2006. 2006 fusionierte der VfL mit Sportverein Brake (SV Brake), der aus einer Fusion von Braker Turnverein (BTV) und dem TuS Brake 03 hervorgegangen war. Der SV Brake führte bis zur Fusion mit dem VfL die Fußballabteilung des TuS Brake 03 fort.

Fußball-Stadion

Der SV Brake spielt im Poligras-Stadion in Brake. Das Stadion schrieb Geschichte, da in Brake der erste Poligras in Deutschland verlegt wurde, auf dem dann Punktspiele ausgetragen worden sind.

Fußball-Fans

Der erste Fanclub in Brake ist das "Inferno Brake". Gegründet wurde der Fanclub im Frühjahr 2004, verschwand allerdings nach einiger Zeit wieder von der Bildfläche. Im Jahr 2009 wurde der Fanclub reaktiviert und ist seitdem wieder bei allen Heim sowie Auswärtsspielen dabei.
