Canaan ist eine kleine, ländliche Stadt im Südwesten der karibische Insel Tobago im Parish Saint Patrick. Zur Volkszählung 2000 hatte sie 1.706 Einwohner.[1]

Sie ist etwa 2 Kilometer vom Strand entfernt und liegt östlich von Crown Point und nahe dem Flughafen Crown Point. Der nächste Fährhafen ist die 8 km östlich gelegene Inselhauptstadt Scarborough.

Im Ort und in der näheren Umgebung gibt es mehrere historische Zuckermühlen, die meist als Hotel oder Restaurant ausgebaut sind.

Canaan ist die Geburtsstadt von Fußballstar Dwight Yorke.
