Developers Diversified Realty Corporation ist einer der größten Eigentümer und Entwickler von über 700 Einkaufszentren in 45 Staaten der Vereinigten Staaten, Puerto Rico, Kanada und Brasilien. Die Gesamtfläche beträgt 14,6 Mio. Quadratmeter. Das 1965 gegründete Unternehmen hat seinen Sitz in Beachwood, Ohio, einem Vorort von Cleveland. Die Aktien werden an der NYSE gehandelt.

Im April 2009 baute die ECE ihren bestehenden Geschäftsanteil durch Übernahme neuer Aktien aus einer Kapitalerhöhung auf über 20% aus.[1]
