Sir Dove-Myer Robinson (* 15. Juni 1901 in Sheffield, England; † 14. August 1989 in Auckland) war ein neuseeländischer Umweltaktivist und Lokalpolitiker englischer Herkunft.

Leben

Er war mit seinen Amtszeiten von 1959 bis 1965 und erneut von 1968 bis 1980 der am längsten amtierende Bürgermeister von Auckland. In seiner Jugend war ein erfolgreicher Motorradsportler. So gewann er mehrfach den neuseeländischen Meistertitel in der Beiwagenklasse. In den Jahren 1942 bis 1959 war er Besitzer eines Auckländer Unternehmens für Kinderkleidung. Robinson trat als Aktivist gegen die Anfang der 1950er Jahre geplante Einleitung von nur unzureichend gereinigtem Abwasser auf Browns Island auf, die zu einer Verschmutzung des Waitemata Harbour geführt hätte. Es gelang ihm, das Projekt zu verhindern.
