Die Fair Isaac Corporation, kurz FICO genannt, ist ein amerikanisches Unternehmen, das Business Intelligence-Software für Finanzdienstleister anbietet.

Geschichte

FICO wurde 1956 von Bill Fair und Earl Isaac unter dem Namen Fair Isaac in San Francisco gegründet. Die beiden Gründer verfolgten das Ziel, Daten so zu nutzen, dass selbst in komplexen Situationen geschäftliche Entscheidung optimal getroffen werden können. Heute ist FICO ein Anbieter in den Bereichen Entscheidungsmanagement und Predictive Analytics und bietet mit dem Produkt Blaze Advisor eine Business-Rule-Engine an.

Der Einsatz von Analytik dient beispielsweise Finanzdienstleistern dabei, ihre Strategien und Prozesse im Kreditgeschäft zu verbessern und Betrug zu bekämpfen. Rund 65 Prozent aller Kreditkarten weltweit werden mit dem von FICO angebotenen adaptiven Kontrollsystem TRIAD verwaltet und mit dem Betrugserkennungssystem Falcon geschützt.

Unternehmen können mithilfe der Technologien von FICO Entscheidungen treffen, indem sie Daten automatisiert auswerten. Predictive Analytics ist dabei als in zahlreichen Produkten für Entscheidungs- und Geschäftsregel-Management integriert.

FICO bietet sowohl Softwarebausteine zur Integration in bestehende Systeme als auch komplette End-to-End Lösungen an. Letztere kommen vor allem in Banken und Versicherungen zum Einsatz, beispielsweise bei der Betrugserkennung sowie bei Kreditwürdigkeitsprüfungen, der automatischen Antragsbearbeitung und im Forderungsmanagement.

FICO hat Niederlassungen in 12 Ländern und verfügt über 5.000 Kunden in 80 Ländern. Dazu gehören zwei Drittel der 100 größten Banken sowie über 300 Versicherungen.
