Hauptort einer Region und einer Präfektur in Guinea. Die Geburtsstadt von Sékou Touré verfügt über einen Flugplatz mit asphaltierter Start-und-Landebahn, im Jahr 2008 wurde die Einwohnerzahl auf 90.000 geschätzt. Für die Gründungskonferenz der Niger Basin Authority ("Kommission zur Nutzung des Niger") 1964 wurde hier ein Konferenzzentrum errichtet, ebenso eine größere Moschee und ein Villenkomplex für Staatsgäste.
