HMS Malta

Vier Schiffe der britischen Royal Navy trugen den Namen HMS Malta. Sie waren nach der Mittelmeerinsel Malta benannt.

  • Die erste Schoner mit 10 Kanonen. Es wurde 1800 von der Royal Navy erbeutet und im Dezember selben Jahres in HMS Gozo umbenannt. Nach 1804 wurde es nicht mehr in der Schiffsliste geführt.
  • Die zweite Linienschiff zweiten Ranges mit 84 Kanonen. Das Schiff lief 1795 als französische Guillaume Tell vom Stapel und wurde 1800 durch die Royal Navy erbeutet. 1840 erfolgte der Abbruch des Schiffes.
  • Die dritte Raddampfer, der ursprünglich den Namen Britannia führte. Das Schiff wurde 1854 angekauft und bereits 1856 wieder verkauft.
  • Die vierte Flugzeugträger und Typschiff der nach ihr benannten Malta-Klasse geplant. Der Bauauftrag wurde Ende 1945 storniert.
