Der International Women’s Peace Service (Internationaler Frauen-Friedens-Dienst) wurde 2002 von Angie Zelter gegründet. Ziel der Organisation ist es, sich um Frieden in Palästina zu bemühen.
Der Sitz des IWPS liegt in Hares, einem Dorf in der Olivenregion von Salfit. Das IWPS-Team besteht aus 16 Frauen verschiedener Ländern Europas, Nordamerikas und Afrikas.
Die Aktivitäten des IWPS sind:
- Erstellen schriftlicher Dokumente und Bildmaterial von Menschenrechtsverletzungen im Bezirk Salfit und deren Weiterleitung an die Weltöffentlichkeit
- Gewaltfreie Intervention, wo Menschenrechte verletzt werden
- Der zivilen Bevölkerung Schutz bieten, die ihrem täglichen Leben friedlich nachgehen will
- Beteiligung an gewaltfreiem zivilem Widerstand, um Menschenrechtsverletzungen, wie zum Beispiel illegale Landenteignungen und Zerstörungen, zu verhindern.
- Unterstützung israelischer und palästinensischer Friedensbewegungen in ihrem gewaltfreien Widerstand
IWPS organisiert gemeinsam mit Pax Christi den Export von palästinensischem Olivenöls. Derzeit ist es möglich in Österreich, Deutschland und der Schweiz dieses Öl in Eine-Welt-Läden (und diversen anderen Geschäften) zu kaufen.
