Idris (Koran)

Idris (arabisch ‏إدريس‎ Idrīs) ist eine Gestalt aus dem Koran, deren Identität nicht völlig geklärt ist.

Er wird als Prophet (arabisch ‏‎ nabīy)[1] Gottes (arabisch ‏‎ Allāh), wahrhaftig (arabisch ‏‎ ṣiddīq)[1] und geduldig (arabisch ‏‎ ṣābir)[2] beschrieben. Von der Mehrheit der muslimischen Exegeten wird er mit Henoch identifiziert, von anderen jedoch - u.a. von Theodor Nöldeke - mit „Andreas“, einer Gestalt aus dem Alexanderroman. Am Ende seines Lebens wurde er, dem Koran zufolge, in die Barmherzigkeit Gottes aufgenommen,[3] was in der Regel als Entrückung interpretiert wird.
