Intel Wireless Display[1] ist eine Technologie von Intel, die es erlaubt, den Bildschirminhalt eines Notebooks über eine an den Fernseher anzuschließende Box (z.B. Push2TV von Netgear [2]) auf HDTV-Fernseher mit HDMI-Anschluss zu streamen. Um die Technik nutzen zu können, muss das Notebook Hardware-seitig zwei Voraussetzungen erfüllen: Zum einen braucht man eine Intel-Core-i-CPU aus der Arrandale-Serie, und zum anderen ein Wireless-Display-fähiges WLAN-Modul aus der Centrino-Serie (Stand 2010). Als Betriebssystem wird Windows 7 vorausgesetzt. Intel Wireless Display unterstützt Videoauflösungen bis 1280x720 Pixel, dem 720p-Standard der Fernsehnorm High Definition Television. Die Übertragung von Inhalten urheberrechtlich geschützter Blu-ray Discs oder DVDs wird nicht unterstützt. Obwohl Notebook-seitig das WLAN-Modul zur Übertragung genutzt wird, ist zeitgleiches Surfen im Internet möglich.[3]
