International Association of Art (englisch) ist die größte internationale, nichtstaatliche Vereinigung bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler.
Geschichte
In der International Association of Art sind weltweit über 90 Künstlerorganisationen zusammengeschlossen. Die Mitglieder tauschen sich regelmäßig über die Rahmenbedingungen künstlerischer Arbeit in den verschiedenen Regionen der Welt aus und entwickeln daraus aktuelle, fundierte Positionen und Lageberichte. Die IAA erfüllt eine ihrer wichtigsten Aufgaben: ein kompetenter Gesprächspartner der UNESCO in allen Fragen zu sein, die den Status und die Arbeitssituation von bildenden Künstlerinnen und Künstlern betreffen. Zuletzt trafen sich im Jahr 2005 in Peking rund 130 Künstler aus 58 Mitgliedsländern aller fünf Kontinente zur 16. Generalversammlung der IAA.
