Jill Johnston

Jill Johnston (* 17. Mai 1929 in London; † 18. September 2010) war eine US-amerikanische Autorin, Journalistin und LGBT-Aktivistin.

Leben

Johnston besuchte in ihrer Kindheit verschiedene Schulen in Massachusetts und Minnesota. Sie studierte an der University of North Carolina und schloss mit dem Master of Fine Arts ab. Nach ihrem Studium war sie als Autorin tätig und schrieb mehrere Bücher. Des Weiteren war sie viele Jahre als Journalistin für die Zeitschrift The Village Voice tätig. Johnston schrieb unter anderem unter dem Pseudonym F. J. Crowe.^[1] Johnston war als Feministin und LGBT-Aktivistin tätig.

Johnston heiratete Richard John Lanham, von dem sie sich 1964 scheiden ließ. Das Paar hatte zwei Kinder. 1993 heiratete Johnston Ingrid Nyboe in Dänemark. Das Paar heiratete 2009 erneut in Connecticut, Vereinigte Staaten.
