Katina P

Die Katina P war ein Öltanker in griechischem Besitz unter maltesischer Flagge.

Der Tanker befand sich auf der Route von Venezuela zum persischen Golf mit etwa 72.000 Tonnen Schweröl an Bord, als er strukturelle Schäden in einem Sturm erlitt. Er wurde am 19. April 1992 einige Seemeilen vor der Küste, etwa 40 km nördlich von Maputo, Mosambik, auf Grund gesetzt. Ein Schlepper zog das Schiff wiederum in tiefes Wasser, wo es jedoch sank. Es kam zu massiven Umweltschäden.[1]
