Hähnchenhappen, Neudeutsch Hähnchennuggets oder Englisch Chicken Nuggets sind mundgerecht portionierte, panierte und frittierte Geflügelstücke, die gewöhnlich mit einer Tunke („Dip“) serviert werden. Sie gehören zum Standardsortiment der Systemgastronomie, für den Hausgebrauch gibt es sie als Tiefkühlkost.

Chicken Nuggets bzw. das dazu nötige Produktionsverfahren, wurden 1950 von Robert C. Baker, einem Professor für Lebensmittelwissenschaft an der Cornell University, erfunden.

Zutaten

Das Produkt besteht im Idealfall aus mundgerecht geschnittenem Hähnchenbrustfilet. Teilweise wird jedoch gehäckseltes Fleisch verwendet und in seltenen Fällen Formfleisch.
