RCA Red Seal ist ein US-amerikanisches Plattenlabel.

Geschichte

Red Seal wurde 1902 von der Gramophone Company im Vereinigten Königreich gegründet. Wenig später wurde es von der Victor Talking Machine Company übernommen. Zu dieser Zeit war der berühmte Tenor Enrico Caruso unter Vertrag. Ab 1929 wurde das Label von RCA Records vertrieben. Bedeutende Dirigenten, wie Arturo Toscanini, Eugene Ormandy, Leonard Bernstein und Arthur Fiedler wurden für Aufnahmen gewonnen. Heute wird es von Sony Masterworks, dem Jazz- und Klassiklabel von Sony Music Entertainment, vertrieben.
