Der Begriff Shoefiti (von engl. shoe – Schuh und graffiti – Graffiti) benennt innerhalb der Straßenkunst ein weltweit zu beobachtendes Phänom, dass Paare von Schuhen zusammengebunden über Äste, Leinen, Kabel oder dergleichen geworfen werden. In Deutschland ist Berlin eine Hochburg dieses Trends.[1]

Entstehung

Es gibt sehr unterschiedliche Erklärungsansätze darüber, wie Shoefiti entstanden ist.[2] Der Shoefiti-Trend soll jedoch aus Schottland und den Vereinigten Staaten stammen.[3] So soll es in Schottland schon lange Brauch der Männer sein, ihre Schuhe ins Fenster zu hängen, sobald sie nicht mehr jungfräulich sind.[4] Im Stadtteil Bronx von New York City sollen hingegen baumelnde Schuhe ein Drogengebiet markiert haben und Straßengangs sollen Schuhe an Orten hinterlassen haben, an dem eines ihrer Mitglieder getötet wurde.[5]
