Shinchō

Shinchō (jap. 新潮) ist eine seit Mai 1904 monatlich im Shinchōsha Verlag erscheinende Literaturzeitschrift. Die Zeitschrift veröffentlicht die Preisträger des Kawabata-Yasunari-Literaturpreises, des Mishima-Preises und des Hagiwara-Sakutarō-Preises für Lyrik. Gegenwärtiger Chefredakteur ist seit 2003 Yuno Yutaka.

Sie gehört neben Gunzō (群像), Bungakukai (文學界), Subaru (すばる) und Bungei (文藝) zu den 5 großen Literaturzeitschriften Japans.
