Uniformed Services of the United States

Uniformed Services of the United States

Uniformed Services of the United States ist – entsprechend Titel 10 des United States Code – eine Sammelbezeichnung für die sieben uniformierten Dienste der US-amerikanischen Bundesbehörden.[1]

Zu diesen uniformierten Diensten gehören die vier dem Verteidigungsministerium der Vereinigten Staaten untergeordneten Teilstreitkräfte – die United States Army (Heer), die United States Navy (Marine), das United States Marine Corps (Marineinfanterie) und die United States Air Force (Luftwaffe). Weiter zählt der dem Ministerium für Innere Sicherheit der Vereinigten Staaten untergeordnete militärische Dienst United States Coast Guard (Küstenwache) dazu. Schließlich zählen die beiden Offizierskorps zweier ziviler Bundesbehörden zu den uniformierten Diensten: das National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Corps[2] der National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, einer Behörde des Wirtschaftsministeriums, und das Public Health Service Commissioned Corps[3] des United States Public Health Service, einer Behörde des Gesundheitsministeriums.
