Come Rain or Come Shine

Come Rain or Come Shine ist eine Komposition von Harold Arlen mit dem Text von Johnny Mercer. Der Song wurde für das Musical "St. Louis Woman" geschrieben und im Jahr 1946 veröffentlicht.

Schon im gleichen Jahr wurden verschiedene Versionen des Songs aufgenommen, so von Sy Oliver mit dem Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, von Dinah Shore, von Frank Sinatra sowie von Helen Forrest mit Dick Haymes. Auch wenn er in den Hitparaden damals nicht so erfolgreich war, wurde er in den 1950er Jahren zu einem Jazz-Standard.

Das Trio von Bill Evans nahm 1959 eine Instrumentalversion des Songs für die LP Portrait in Jazz auf. Im gleichen Jahr wurde er auch von Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers für ihr Album Moanin' eingespielt.

Außerdem nahmen ihn erneut Frank Sinatra (1961) sowie Diane Schuur (1986) auf, die für ihr Standards-Album einen Grammy für die beste weibliche Jazz-Gesangsaufnahme erhielt. Keith Jarrett interpretierte ihn mit seinem Standards-Trio.
