Cross Rate

Unter einer Cross Rate (zu deutsch Kreuzkurs, manchmal auch falsch als Kreuzrate od. Crosskurs übersetzt) versteht man den errechneten Wechselkurs zwischen zwei Währungen, der sich aus der Verkettung zweier anderer Wechselkursrelationen ergibt. Cross Rates werden dann benötigt, wenn es zwischen zwei Währungen keinen amtlichen Wechselkurs gibt.

Im folgenden Beispiel wird aus den bilateralen Wechselkursen EUR/USD und CHF/USD die Cross Rate EUR/CHF berechnet:

  • CHF/USD = 0,7882   →   CHF = 0,7882 USD   bzw.   1,2687 CHF = USD
  • EUR/USD = 1,1957   →   EUR = 1,1957 USD   bzw.   0,8363 EUR = USD
  •   →   EUR/CHF = (1,1957 USD) / (0,7882 USD) = (1,1957 / 0,7882) = 1,5170   →   EUR = 1,5170 CHF   bzw.   CHF = 0,6592 EUR
