Address Supporting Organization

Die Address Supporting Organization (ASO) ist innerhalb der ICANN die Dachorganisation für die verschiedenen Organisationen, die Domainnamen im Internet vergeben. Sie organisiert die internationalen Treffen zwischen ihren Mitgliedern und stellt für ihre Mitglieder eine Schnittstelle zur ICANN dar. Die ASO ist eine Nichtstaatliche Organisation.

Die Address Supporting Organization stellt als Dachorganisation den Kontakt zwischen den verschiedenen regionalen Organisationen her, um die Vergabe von Domainnamen im Internet zu regeln und zu vereinheitlichen. Sie bearbeitet auch die Anträge auf Erteilung neuer Top-Level-Domains.
