Afilias ist seit 2001 die Registrierungsstelle der gTLDs .info sowie einiger ccTLDs. Der Sitz des Unternehmens ist in Dublin (Irland) und wurde im September 2000 von einer Gruppe führender Domain Name Registrars gegründet.

Geschichte

Im November 2000 wurde Afilias von ICANN ausgewählt, die neue Domainendung .info zu starten.

Nach dem Stand von Januar 2008 betreibt Afilias über 14 Millionen Domains.

Afilias hat neben Dublin noch Stellen in Philadelphia (Vereinigte Staaten), London (Vereinigtes Königreich), Toronto (Kanada) und Neu-Delhi (Indien).
