Ahl al-Kisa

Ahl al-Kisa (arabisch ‏أهل الكساء‎, DMG ahl al-kisāʾ), die „Leute des Mantels“. Synonym verwendet werden ahl al-ʿabā / ‏أهل العبا‎ oder ashab al-kisa / ‏أصحاب الكساء‎ / aṣḥāb al-kisāʾ /‚Besitzer des Mantels‘. Dieser Begriff bezeichnet die nächsten Verwandten des Propheten Mohammed: seine Tochter Fatima, deren Ehemann Ali und deren Söhne Hasan und Husain. Hintergrund dieses Begriffes ist folgende islamische Überlieferung: Im Jahre 10 der Hidschra (631/632 n. Christus) zur Zeit des Besuches einer Delegation von Christen des Nadschran, die zu Verhandlungen über einen Schutzvertrag nach Medina gekommen waren, soll Mohammed diese Mitglieder seiner Familie unter seinen Mantel genommen haben. Dabei habe er den folgenden Koranvers rezitiert

Gott will (damit, dass er solche Gebote und Verbote erlässt) die (heidnische) Unreinheit von euch entfernen, ihr Leute des Hauses, und euch wirklich rein machen. (Koran 33:33)

Nach schiitischer Auffassung begründet diese Überlieferung die Sonderstellung Alis und seiner Nachkommen und insbesondere ihr Anspruch auf das Amt des Imam.[1]
